how to import abbreviations

I'm struggling to work out how to install an abbreviation list.

"To import a set of lists for a style, save the JSON files containing the abbreviations to your desktop, and open a document to access the abbreviations popup. Use the Import button at the bottom of the panel to open an import dialog."

what exactly is "open a document to access the abbreviations popup"?
  • Where are these instructions from and what are you trying to do exactly?
If you're trying to use MLZ Zotero, please make that clear in your thread title.
  • The quoted text is from the CitationStylist that documents the Abbreviation Filter.

@jsh.moore: Those instructions are for a plugin intended for use with Multilingual Zotero (MLZ). If you are using official Zotero, they would not apply. If you are using MLZ, you need to install the Abbreviation Filter, available from the same site that hosts those instructions.

(The text needs an update: MLZ will now also show the Abbrevs button in the CSL Edit pane, accessible from MLZ -> gear menu -> Preferences -> Advanced.
  • thanks fbennet. I can now find it
