Grabbing Call Numbers

Please delete this if it is redundant.

When zotero grabs call numbers (even from the Library of Congress), it only seems to take them probably about 1/2-2/3 of the time. Often it grabs other, irrelevant, data.

It almost never gets publication place for Google books, even though that information is on the website (it must be in the meta-data somewhere!) These seem like small tweaks that could be made without much trouble. But I could be wrong.

What needs to happen to make zotero a more effective reliable tool in this regard?
  • Provide URLs where it doesn't grab what you expect (or, if it's not a static URL, provide the site and search terms to find the page), and list what you expect to get and what you're actually getting for each.
  • I think this is a static URL (at least I copied and pasted it, and it worked) http://catalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v1=3&ti=1,3&Search_Arg=John%20Rist&Search_Code=NAME%40&CNT=100&PID=nTlpCWeHmEfr2Tbtf_HrypPOnzx-&SEQ=20080924105841&SID=2

If not, I used the library of congress to get John M. Rist's Book: Augustine: Ancient Thought Baptized

The website has the call number CALL NUMBER: BR1720.A9 R55 1994
    But zotero grabs:
    pc16 to sa00 09-01-93; sh14 09-01-93; sh08 09-01-93; sh38 09-02-93; aa17 09-02-93; CIP ver. sh38/sh07 10-20-94

    Thanks!
  • Confirmed: This is happening with all records in the Library of Congress Catalog. It looks like Zotero is prioritizing field 955 instead when the call number information is in field 050.
