IEEE xplore not working

opensuse linux, chrome, try to download information on xplore, for example:

click the button, shows downloading and nothing happens.

Firefox not working either, report "could not save item"

cleared .zotero and reinstalled everything, not working :(

    import via URL never works from full-page PDF displays, it's a bug that it displays there.
    It should work from the article's landing/abstract page:
    http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/articleDetails.jsp?tp=&arnumber=1013853
    and does for me.
    .zotero and reinstalled everything, not working :(
    don't do that - it very rarely helps and if anything makes troubleshooting harder.

    Edit: only relevant if what adamsmith is saying dies not fix it.

    When saving from Chrome, do you have Standalone open? In Zotero preferences in Chrome, does it report that Standalone is available? Could you also provide versions for all relevant software (including, Zotero Standalone, Zotero for Firefox, and Zotero Chrome Connector)? Are you behind a proxy?

    the url used to work for me several days ago...
    still not working with the url provided, it stuck at "saving to xxx..."

    Chrome reports standalone is available(I am using Zot without online syncing)

    zotero standalone 4.0.16
    chrome zotero 4.0.8.2
    chrome linux Version 31.0.1650.63
    firefox zotero 4.0.16
    firefox 25.0

    because of IEEEs Twitter and Facebook integration. Those aren't Zotero related errors, obviously.

    And the URL I gave from Firefox with Standalone closed?

    not working, failed to save and then gave a link about "known_translator_issues"

    that covers an attempt to save from IEEE that results in an error.

    @adamsmith, FWIW, the PDF display page is "working" for me in both Firefox and Chromium (currently testing on Ubuntu). The only downside in Chromium is that, because the PDF display page is not an HTML page, you do not get a saving indicator. I don't think we should fix this inconsistency by disabling the URL bar icon on PDF pages, but rather (in the long run) try to get the pop-up indicator to appear on PDF pages (and pages using frames).

    @aurimas, that's what I like about Zotero: the button on the pdf page saves everything at one time :).
    @adamsmith, does the error message tells anything?

    sean_1985: It may or may not be causing the problem, but you appear to have your Zotero data directory in Dropbox. Such a configuration is unsupported — doing so risks corrupting your database and can cause all sorts of other problems, so you're on your own until you move it out.

    I found the problem, looks like the permission for the ieee***.js file is locked.
    Now everything works fine :)
