REPORT ID 1260903713 - Synch Problems with Mac Standalone
Hello,
I recently started encountering a problem syncing from the standalone version for a mac, which is preventing new data from being synced. From what I can tell, the problem started after I linked a file in dropbox to its entry in Zotero. Now there is always an error message, which states "Component returned failure code: 0x80520006 (NS_ERROR_FILE_TARGET_DOES_NOT_EXIST) [nsILocalFile.isDirectory]"
The program works fine on another computer using the stand alone program with linked files to a dropbox folder so the problem must be specific to this computer.
Is there a better way to store files? Previously, I had just been attaching everything into my database, but I was worried this would not be a sustainable practice.
Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks,
Frank

On the other hand, that should not cause problems with Zotero syncing (as it doesn't care about linked files during the sync AFAIK). We'll see what the Report ID shows.
I mentioned that I started getting the error when I switched from attaching files to the database entries, and instead linked the entries to files in a dropbox folder. To be clear, I didn't change or move any files from the database; I just used the link file option for a couple of new entries.
I did notice that some files I added on another computer before realizing the error message on the other computer aren't showing up, so there is a discrepancy between the two computers if that's creating a further problem.
Again, thanks very much for your help.
