Use of unsuperscripted numbers in text

I have two main issues:

1) How do I cite references within my text by unsuperscripted numbers e.g.

The reason for this behaviour has been explained by other authors [1,2].

2) This is related to my first question. Suppose now I have several references, see:

The reason for this behaviour has been explained by other authors [1-6].

How do I place that [1-6] and still be able to generate a correct bibliography at the end of my writeup?
  • 1) The style of the citations in text and in bibliography is determined by whatever style you're using. You have over 6,000 styles to choose from: http://www.zotero.org/styles So pick whatever journal you're writing for and everything should be formatted correctly. If you're not writing for a journal, then we can help you find a style that matches what you need or comes close.

    2) You just insert whatever 6 references you need in the text together (add them all from the same insert box) and they will appear in the bibliography correctly.
  • Thanks so much aurimas! I am helped already by your guidelines! Thanks again.
