Zotero Integration Error

I am running Mac OSX 10.5

When I have the Zotero 3.0 application open and try to use the zotero plugin in Word 2010, I get the following error message:

Zotero could not load the component required to communicate with your word processor. Please ensure that the appropriate extension is installed and try again.

When I have Zotero 3.0 closed, the plug in works fine. I would like to have it open though. Is there a solution?

    Provide a report ID after re-triggering the error.

    You have Zotero Standalone 3.0.3, which is very outdated. Ideally, you should upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 or later and install Zotero Standalone 4.0.1 from http://www.zotero.org/download/. If you can't upgrade Mac OS X, see https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/26465/#Item_7

    Thank you!! I downloaded Zotero 3.0.8.1: http://download.zotero.org/standalone/3.0.8.1/Zotero-3.0.8.1.dmg

    It has fixed the problem. Sadly, my Macbook was built in 2009 and cannot be updated past OSX 10.5.

    Any Intel Mac can run Mac OS X 10.6, including all MacBooks. Any MacBook built after January 21, 2009 can run the latest version, Mac OS X 10.8.
