onlinelibrary.wiley.com doesn't work

I've tried to add http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1365-2869.2000.00178.x/full to my library, but it only results in an empty box to be shown for some time, then nothing is imported.

I'm using Firefox 18.0.1 on WinXP and my Zotero and my translators are up to date.
  • works for me.
Have you tried restarting Firefox? Is this the URL as you see it, no proxy involved?

    Provide an error report ID:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs#provide_a_report_id
  • I can confirm that all metadata downloads (in any format) from Wiley journals have intermitently failed over the past 48+ hours. The problem lasts for a few minutes then it goes away only to return for another few minutes.
  • thanks DWL.
@antikorpo if that's the case never mind the error report ID - let us know if this is still a problem in a couple of days

Sorry, I'm new to reporting translator errors.

My university introduced a new proxy about two years ago, the old one was a normal proxy that redirects everything (but needs configuration) and the new one changes the url (thus it's suitable for noobs, but makes working with zotero more difficult).

    This is the actual address:
    http://han.srv.meduniwien.ac.at/han/PubMedMUW/onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1365-2869.2000.00178.x/full

I've now tried it without the proxy and there it works fine (because this is a free item ;) )

I've enabled the Debug output and copied the contents into this notepad http://notepad.cc/xectaovi46

I've also created a Report ID: 1288691914, but i doubt that this helps.
  • cool, thanks. That debug is helpful, I'll see if I can make this work with your proxy, but it may be tricky: more typically, proxies are inserted after the host (i.e. after onlinelibrary.wiley.com).
I'll likely need you to test if I come up with something.
  • Actually it seems that also through my proxy no PDFs get added even if the item itself is saved.
  • I'm even experiencing problems on google scholar when behind my proxy:

    han.srv.meduniwien.ac.at/han/PubMedMUW/scholar.google.at/scholar?start=20&q="Sleep+Medicine+Reviews"+polysomnography&hl=de&as_sdt=0

On this page, when i try to save the second item, it fails. Here's the error-report ID: 15274433

For me it would be awsome to have a "proxy toggle" button somewhere, because without the proxy it saves just fine (except for paywalled PDFs) and with the proxy i can add the pdfs afterwards.

An example would be https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/server-switcher/ where you can toggle between development-server and online-server for webdevelopement. Unfortunately, this plugin only allows for predefined locations unlike zoteros "automatically associate new host".

Zotero could have "switch off proxy for this tab" as a right-click option in the url-bar button or as another button on the yellow bar, that pops up when a page is redirected.
  • Wiley should may now work through your proxy:
Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences.

    Any problems let us know.

A proxy toggle would be a good candidate for a plugin.
