Zotero Sync Server

On my primary computer (PC, Windows 7, Firefox 16.0.2) I have set "sync automatically" and "sync attachments ... using Zotero".
On my secondary computer (Mac OSX 10.6.8, Firefox 16.0.2) I can see all my references. However, child notes do not contain text and I cannot open attachments ("file not found").
On my Zotero account, I can see my quote (1 GB) and the size of my library (2.6 MB).
A couple of months ago I had received a warning that my free quota (100 MB) is exhausted and I had switched off "sync attachments". Two weeks ago I purchased extra storage and switched "sync attachments" on again. Last week, when noticing the problem, I reset "Restore to Zotero Server" from my primary computer.
Can you help?
  • Start here:

    http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/changes_not_syncing
    http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/files_not_syncing
  • So I take it one by one...
Sync icon is not spinning. "Last sync 4 minutes ago". No icon indicating error.

    Files uploaded to Zotero storage:
Example for PDF on computer A (Wernstedt 2007): zotero://attachment/861/
Zotero account / storage: shows the attachment under "Notes and attachments" (title.pdf); under "attachment details" it shows for URL the original URL this pdf has been obtained from.

Is that how it is supposed to be?

Zotero account / storage: shows the attachment under "Notes and attachments" (title.pdf)
But is it accessible online? Are the notes visible online?

The point of those articles is that there's no such thing as a sync problem between two computers. There's a sync problem between Computer A and zotero.org or Computer B and zotero.org. You need to figure out which, and then the other computer is (temporarily, at least) irrelevant.
  • Child notes for existing items are shown as clickable links, leading to e.g. "https://www.zotero.org/christophmmeier/items/itemKey/ARMCDQN8"

PDF attachments for existing items are not shown as clickable links (merely as text).

Just created a test item with an attached pdf from my harddisk. This is shown as clickable link (e.g. "https://zoterofilestorage.s3.amazonaws.com/7f360..."
  • OK, so do a Reset File Sync History on Computer A. When you did a Restore to Zotero Server—which is not meant for troubleshooting—you wiped out any files you had on the server.
  • This does it! Checked last night on computer B - the notes and the attachments (as clickable links) are there.
    Thanks for your help!
