username and password problem

i have checked the problem in the thread but can't seem to find the solution. So here...

My hard drive crashed and I reinstalled Zotero & Firefox. Since I forgot Zotero account pw, I requested a new one and updated. My problem now is I can't sync. I am getting the following msg

[The Zotero sync server did not accept your username and password.Please check that you have entered your zotero.org login information correctly in the Zotero sync preferences]

I re-enter the detail required few time, including using the 'restore' tab in the preference tab, yet still getting same msg. What should I do?

    I would suggest you just manually change your password and try again. That message just means what it says - while there is a tiny chance that the site just struggles with a special character you put in your password, the most likely option is that you just input something wrong.
    Changing password and using the new one deals with both of these possibilities.

    It looks to me like you synced a minute ago.
    including using the 'restore' tab in the preference tab
    Don't use the Reset options for troubleshooting.

    Problem partly solved. I do keyed in the PW correctly this time (blush). But I do not have a 100% recovery - only parts of my record were shown after sync, the rest were 'missing'. Before this, I did use the 'restore' tab - could this be the course of partial recovery? What should I do to restore all my record? Any helps are highly appreciated

    If you had local items that weren't synced to the server and did a Restore from Zotero Server, those items are gone, unless you have backups.

    I have the same problem. I cannot sync. Oddly enough, FF saved apparently my pw WITHOUT any user name. Is this creating the problem?
    I still see my stuff, but cannot sync.
    Is there any difference between chrome + plugin and ff? Because in my options I see that the system specifies pw for chrome. I cannot alternate between ff and chrome? thanks a lot
