Zotero Maps and 2.1

Has anyone had success using the Zotero Maps plugin (v1.0.9) with Zotero 2.1? I've tried under several different Windows configurations with no success.

If someone could give me a sense of what has changed between 2.0 and 2.1 to cause this I'd be happy to start tackling the problem.

Cheers.
  • I think the plugin has been updated, but I'm not if the new version has been released. Try checking it out of SVN and running from the checkout. See http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/svn_and_trac_access#running_an_svn_build_of_zotero -- the same thing can be done with an SVN checkout of the Maps plugin.
  • I had reached the same frustrating conclusion of it not working anymore, but then tried it with Zotero in pane mode. That worked fine for me - have you tried that ?
  • I've been running Zotero in Browser Pane mode, but after reading @clio_13's comment I tried in Separate Tab mode (just to try something different) and discovered that the Create Maps option does not appear at all. I assume this is because Separate Tab mode is new to Zotero 2.1.x so the Zotero Maps plugin does not have the extra XUL markup needed to place it there.

I haven't yet tried @ajlyon's suggestion of running Zotero Maps from the checkout. However, my Firefox add-ons manager indicates that I'm running Zotero Maps 1.0.9 SVN. I assume this is not the same up-to-date SVN you are referring to?
  • I "up" this discussion. Do someone know if the plug-in was updated for the version 3 and for the numerous Firefox versions that were published since last year? Zotero Maps does not seem to work anymore...
  • @inactinique (and others): Z Maps 1.0.10 is here.
  • It's no more compatible with the last version of Zotero standalone. Am I right?
  • probably not - maps hasn't been updated at for ages.
You can look at papermachines though
    http://chrisjr.github.io/papermachines/
    which includes a mapping function.
