Corrupt Z3 database on OSX w FF11 not fixied through manual efforts

I received a message that the zotero database appears to have been corrupted and I should retsrat firefox for auto repair. I tried that (actually a couple of times) and I got the same message. I then looked in the forums and followed the directions for manual fix. The commands were entered with no problem. However, the problem remains. I am in a bit of a panic at this point as I am the middle of some research and wold appreciate any and all assistance.

I did notice a bak file from sopme hours earlier. is there a way to restore the bak file to the zotero.sqlite file? AT present I have:

  • Thanks. After posting I tried to use the procedure identified in sqlite to restore a bak file, but using sqlite3, and that blew up. Nor could I find specifics on restoring from a bak file with sqlite3 (just for grins, is there a url that addresses this?) So I mv'd the last bak file out of the way and restarted and then realized that zotero will not use the prior numbered bak files. I then deleted the broken bak and mv'd a numbered bak file to zotero.sqlite.bak after removing the zotero.sqlite file and that seemed to do the trick.

One problem with forums is that one may not see the most recent solution (such as the simpler tool you identified, Dan.
