Chicago with full note first instance of each chapter?

I'd like each chapter of my dissertation to be able to stand alone, and also keep them in one Word document. I've got Word restarting footnote numbering in each chapter via a section break at the end of each chapter. Zotero works fine, but only puts brief notes if a book was mentioned in a previous chapter.

Is there a way to have Zotero put the full note, rather than the brief note, the first instance any book is mentioned in every chapter?

Thanks.
  • No, CSL/Zotero doesn't recognize any Word section breaks.
Only way to do this is separated docs for separate chapters. You can put them together at the end & after removing Zotero field codes, though.
  • Is there a way to make Zotero think one Word document is multiple Word documents? Bibiography isn't an issue because I'm making the bibliography from a zotero folder, not from what's in the document.

I'd rather have the dissertation look sloppy than have to work from separate documents. I did that for a while and it was too hard to keep organized, i.e. updating styles.
  • not that I know of, no.
