Text in notes deleted

I'm using 6.0.14-beta.6+2271913e4 on OSX 12.5.1
I am annotating a pdf. I add a note and start typing, but the text of the note deletes itself when I'm about 8 chars in. If I retype it stays. It doesn't happen for every note, but 4/5 of them

I did, in the first post.
. add a note
. start typing
. the text in the note disappears after I type 6-8 chars

Right, but it's not happening for everybody, or else we'd have many more reports, and we still can't reproduce it ourselves. So we need an exact, step-by-step description of everything you're doing to reproduce it, including literally everything you're clicking on.
