AGLC4 and US Code/Legislation
Hi,
I need to cite aspects of the United States Code (USC) in my thesis but when I choose the 'statute' item it uses the Australian legislation citation instead of the US domestic legislation style (see rule 25.2 AGLC4).
I followed the examples provided in this thread https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/legal_citations, (noting it is not AGLC4) but do not get the same results. Instead I get:
"The Small Business Reorganization Act of 2022 2022 (these are in italics) (USC)."
Rule 25.2 in the AGLC4 requires US Legislation/Code to be cited as follows: Statute Title (in italics), Chapter Abbreviated Code Name Section Publisher's Name Year of Code and Supplement.
I tried working around this by using the manuscript item as follows:
Item Type: Manuscript
Title: The Small Business Reorganization Act of 2022
Type: 11 USC
Date: (2022) s 1181-1195.
The above results in the following: The Small Business Reorganization Act of 2022 (in italics), 11 USC, s 1181 1195 2022.
As you can see; I almost get there, but the dash between the section numbers doesn't appear, I cannot find a location to include the publisher name and cannot get the year to appear in brackets.
I would be very grateful for your assistance in trying to resolve the above. I am aware of Juris-M, but due to the nature of my thesis only need to cite a handful of US legislation.

adamsmithOne of the major reasons Juris-m exists is that it's just not possible for standard Zotero/CSL to handle legal citations across jurisdictions. When I created the AGLC4 CSL style, we agreed that it'd cover Australian cases & legislation and wouldn't try to handle anything else, so the best advice I can give you, especially if you only have a couple of US cases, is to cite those manually.

amandajayne.bullThanks @adamsmith I appreciate your response. I will take a closer look at juris-M to see if overall it suits my needs. I will be sure to come back to this thread to leave my comments on Juris-M to hopefully prevent you getting more legal queries like this.
