Inserting notes in Word - how the search bar works

I made some annotations to a PDF files and created an item note from them. In Word, I can search for that note using words that appear in the annotations, which is great. However, I would also like to be able to search for the note using the citation information for the source (e.g. the author's last name). Is there any way to do that, besides just inserting the citation in the note text?
  • Yeah, currently it just searches the note text, but I agree that it should search the parent item title/creator/year as well and show all of the item's notes. We'll try to address that for a future version.

Note, though, that by default if you add an annotation to a note it adds a citation, so generally searching for the last name would still work…
  • Thanks for the quick reply and for taking the suggestion under advisement!

You're right, though, I just tested and if the author name is in the in-text citation, the author search definitely works. So I'm not sure what happened when it failed last time. Time for more experimentation!
