Can I find/remove duplicates in a collection (=folder), not the whole library?

Just that. I have many folders for different projects. I want to be able to automatically identify/merge/remove duplicates in a selected folder, but the "duplicate items" folder covers the whole library.

Maybe I could create a group library for each project, even though I don't need to share it, and use the duplicate items folder in that?
  • You can use a colored tag to tag everything in the duplicate folder & then filter by that tag in a collection and dedupe (and not forget to remove the tag afterwards).

That said, for most workflows it makes more sense to dedupe for your entire library: since the same item can exist in multiple collections, you'd still have it filed for all your projects, but you'd only have a single copy which will make both citing easier and reduce the size of your library. https://www.zotero.org/support/collections_and_tags#the_zotero_collections_model
