Formatting Citations and Word Styles
We are working on transitioning to Zotero for citation management at my company, but we have run into a bit of a snag regarding formatting the citations in Word.
Specifically, per our in-house style guide, we need the author(s) on one line, the year on the next line and indented, a tab separating the year from the rest of the citation, and then the remainder of the citation indented to all be aligned with itself rather than the year.
We are working with a modified version of the Society for American Archaeology CSL file, which outputs the author(s) on one line, the year on the next line but not indented, a tab separating the year from the rest of the citation, and then the remainder of the citation aligned with the year. We have tried several variations with the "Display" options in the CSL file, but have not gotten any closer to what we are looking for.
It seems the best option is to handle all of it through the styles in Word, which requires a bit of extra work because of the soft-returns that Zotero uses, but isn't insurmountable. However, I wanted to check if anyone knows a better way of handling the output from Zotero to make it easier to get it into the style that we need.
