Import from Mendeley: can't log in via email link
Hi -
I'm trying to jump ship from Mendeley to Zotero. I'm on a Mac with the latest version of Zotero. After going to File, Import, I see the Mendeley screen asking me to enter my email address; it then sends me an email with a link to log in. When I click that link it opens in Safari and I can log in there - but Zotero doesn't recognise that anything's happened and just sits there.
How can I log in to Mendeley in a way that Zotero understands?
Thanks,
Hamish

I found another post on this forum which explained the solution to this: the issue is because my Mendeley account was set up with an institutional email address, and Mendeley has a slightly different login for that.
I worked around it by changing my email address in Mendeley to a personal (non-academic) address, and then Mendeley happily let me log in through the Zotero window, and the import proceeded without a hitch.
I wonder if that might be added to the 'alternative method' bit as it's quite a lot easier than having to do an import to an old version of Mendeley.
Thanks,
Hamish
