IEEE: Paragraph reference

Hello guys,
I would like to insert a reference in my text with a reference to the paragraph.
For example:
It's not allowed to do that [2].
But I need the paragraphe, like:
It's not allowed to do that [2, § 10].
So that you know from which paragraph I took it from the legal text.
Is that somehow possible.
Thank you in advance:

    On the cite bubble, click on the name and there you can specify the page/chapter/paragraph....

    See also: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage

    Note though that IEEE will produce it like so: [1, Para. 3]

    If you want the "§" symbol you'd need to edit the style.
  • I'm using Libreoffice, but I think that the process is the same. And I'm using the "Triangle" style.

    In the xml, how do we set the locator for having a "$" character for paragraph locations.
  • In the "locale" section, add this to the terms that are already defined:
    <term name="paragraph" form="short">$</term>
  • @damnation Thanks for the trick, but...

    To the triangle.csl i had a section :
    <locale xml:lang="fr">
    <terms>
    ...

    I have added :
    <term name="paragraph" form="short">$</term>
    I have also added a new section :
    <locale >
    <terms>
    <term name="paragraph" form="short">$</term>

    ...
    I've recorded it as triangle+

    But in a new document with the triangle+ style the citation is still :

    Pape François, Laudato si’ , Paris, Bayard; Cerf; Mame, 2015, p. 62.

    instead of :

    Pape François, Laudato si’ , Paris, Bayard; Cerf; Mame, 2015, §. 62.
  • You asked me for "paragraph" and that's what I gave you.
    "P." Stands for "page", not Paragraph.
    You'd need to change that word in the line i gave you.
  • @damnation
    Understood. But in the tests above, when i create a citation i select the "paragraphe" location and get a "p." mark.

    1. open zotero
    2. open Libreoffice and create an new document writer
    3. write something
    4. click on "Add/Edit citation"
    5. set "Zotero - document settings" with "triangle+", "footnote"...
    6. choose "classic view"
    7. in "Add/Edit citation" window, select the book with "paragraph" set to "3". click "OK
    8. got a footnote with the citation ending with "p. 3"
  • In fact I think there is a bug in Triangle.csl

    In the zotero style editor when choosing "triangle", i get "p." with "volume", "page", "paragraph", "figure"...

    I open a new thread in the forum to get help.

    Thanks.

    No, please continue here.

    The style has some bad coding practises. Let me fix them and then you can use that style as your base.
  • @damnation
    Back at my computer.
    I have followed the link above and i have integrated the changes (except the numerous removing of font-style="normal") I have made some checks here
    https://validator.citationstyles.org/
    I've made some changes until there is no error.
    It gives the file triangle+.csl :
    https://cloud.imagine-asso.fr/index.php/s/T9dJ7Hc3aS6qMqj

    I' opened zotero and libreoffice, made some citations and it gives :
    https://cloud.imagine-asso.fr/index.php/s/mbiX27KxjL8GnXa

    I get the citations as expected with the "§" character for paragraphs, 'vol.' for volumes...

    Very nice ! Many thanks.
