Zotero brain fart?

I am editing a Word document with citations. When I locate my spot in the text and attempt to add a new citation, the Zotero program does not seem to respond and the screen fades in colour. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong.

    Not sure what you mean by "the screen fades in colour". Can you take a screenshot, upload it somewhere (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive), and provide a link here?

    In any case, have you tried restarting your computer? If so, provide a Debug ID for this happening.
