Search Problems

I have a search setup: Search1 finds any file with PDF attachment, Search2 finds anything that is not in Search1. This way, I find entries with missing PDF. However, one or two betas ago this broke for me: now many (but not all!) items from Search1 appear in Search2. What might have happened?
