Attachments not link to the correct file

Hello,

Attachments have been a critical feature for working with Zotero, but there are some issues with the current version ( 2.0b7.4) that jeopardize this utility.

Attachments are not linked any more to the right file that I stored and pointed out to Zotero. When creating the child file attachment with this version, I navigated to the right folder and pointed to the right file to be attached. But when I go to Zotero and want to pull out the file and click on the attachment and then click on the right side panel 'show file', it takes me to a folder in the AppData that looks like this:
C:\Users\Veronica\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\wr8lyrwa.default\zotero
\storage\E9R5WG9A

This means that Zotero has duplicated the other file, and put it in a location that wasn't intended.

Is there a way to resolve this? Suggestions to deal with it?

    You can choose to either link to a file (which seems to be what you claimed to once do) or store a copy of a file (which is the default & which is what you are now doing). I do not think anything has changed in 2.0b74. Are you adding files in a different way from when you were before?

    Storing files is good, as it makes synchronization between multiple copies of Zotero much easier & also allows you to backup all attachments & your zotero data easily.

    Thanks for making the distinction clear, noksagt.

    Link to a file is what I've done the most, a lot through the right panel that is not there anymore.

    I like the idea of facilitating sync, but I'd have to look closer at the step of letting duplicate the saved file in order to make 'storage-able'.
