Runtime Error 5

Hey Peeps!

I'm really frustrated. I looked through all the forum and tried everything I found. But every time I click on any of the zotero Buttons in Word I get the "runtime error 5".

I use zotero 6.0.12 and MacOS Monterey 12.5

Can someone be so kind and help me to fix this issue. I would really like to use zotero for my doctors thesis.

    Have you tried restarting your mac? What's the full Word version that you have installed (like 16.64)? Generally, this is a very rare macOS bug that may be fixed by reinstalling Word.

    I tried everything. Restarting my Mac, I even reinstalled Word.
    Still Runtime Error 5...

    Yes I use Word (16.64).

    I could really use some help :)

    Write down everything that you try and what happens at each step.

    Thank you very much!

    I followed steps 1-6. When I Run "ZoteroAddEditCitation" I get the Runtime Error 5. This time I can click on "Debug" which is new.
    The VBA shows me this line yellow highlighted:
    "Result$ = AppleScriptTask("Zotero.scpt", "callZotero", shellScript$)"

    Does this have to do with the individuell System you referred to in this post?

    If you open the Terminal and paste
    osascript -e "display dialog \"test\""

    into it and press Enter do you get a dialog that says "test"?

    This is the output: "osascript: can't open default scripting component"

    I saw in the other post, that I have get osascript running on my Mac in order to run zotero, is that right?
    I will investigate in that then.

    Interesting change:
    When I run this command with "sudo" it work fine.

    Even stranger - I found this on another thread. I removed all the Components on the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components folder and now everything works. I will put the components back one after one to see which one is causing this.

    Hope this helps other People as well!
