Google Docs Footnotes and Zotero "Updating"

I am using Zotero with Google docs to insert footnote citations but when I insert, it says {Updating} and when I refresh nothing changes. My footnotes will not insert into Google Docs, even though the process was working fine an hour ago.

Try disabling all other browser extensions. If that doesn't help, you can try temporarily using a different browser.

We're waiting for a separate fix from Google that will let us roll out a new version of the plugin that should avoid this.
