Filtering the views on the centre column

Hi, tried searching but can't find an answer

I'm using version 1.0.10; I archive lots of blog posts for my research using the snapshot feature. This is really useful, but when I am browsing for papers, books, etc. through the view pane (the centre column), I get loads of blog posts that I don't want.

Is there are way to exclude - for example - all the stored web pages when I am browsing in the centre column?

    You can sort by item type or use a saved search.

    Thanks! That works, though it would also be nice to be able to exclude types. But this solution works fine too :)
