Opening a new tab instead of going to already-open tab

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, I wasn't sure what to search to find this topic.

I'm wondering if there is a setting I can toggle to solve the following issue. I have a LOT of PDFs open in the Zotero PDF reader, as I'm going through a lot of literature right now. Sometimes I can't remember if I already have a paper open, and so I pull up the paper in the Library. However, I've realized that when I click the paper from the Library, it opens up the PDF in a NEW tab instead of sending me to the tab that is already open with that paper. So now I have two tabs with the same paper/PDF. Is there a way that clicking on the paper sends me to the already-open tab? Thanks!

It already does this. You should only get separate tabs if you actually have separate items or if you right-click on the tab and choose "Duplicate Tab".
