Sorting a Bibliography

I have a bibliography that I am trying to manually sort into different categories. When I take the selected article and put it into a sub category I would like the article to be removed from the original full bibliography. Does anyone know how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.

Can you give a bit more detail about the categories? Like primary sources vs secondary sources?

It’s not currently possible to manually partition a bibliography in the word processor plugins, but you could adapt your citation style to sort by category first depending on how they should be defined.
