How to know which library a local folder is from?

As the storage space offered by Zotero is only 300 MB, I want to do an application to sync the data on my local Zotero folders with some members of a group library.

The problem is Zotero saves the bibliographies from all libraries in the same folder, so I don't know how to distinguish if a file is from my personal library or from my group library.
Is there a way to find this out?

Is there another solution to sync files from Zotero with other people without syncing the personal libraries together?

    I'm not sure I follow.

Are you talking about identifying folders within 'storage' in your Zotero data directory, or something else?

    Almost it.

Let's say I have two folders in my storage. One of these folders stores the data of a paper from My Library, and the other one stores the data of a paper from my group library.
Is there a way, by looking only at these folders' contents, to know which one stores the paper of the group library?
  • The only way to identify a folder in 'storage' is pasting the 8-character folder name into the Zotero search bar in All Fields & Tags mode in the root of each library.

    But what does it matter?
  • Thank you very much!

I want to make an application to copy the PDFs from my storage to my colleagues' storage, but copy just the PDFs of our group library. Zotero is not synchronizing our files anymore.
  • Are you talking about copying the files outside of Zotero to some external cloud storage folder? I'm afraid that's not something we can help with. Zotero groups are designed to work with Zotero Storage.
