Copy text from pdf
I use Zotero to view pdf files of my books in library. When i select text on the page a note is automatically created. But sometimes i don't need to create a note, i just need to copy a selected text. How can i do that simple?
I understand that i can create note with text and then copy it from there. It's too complicated for simple operation.

The PDF reader has two highlight modes:
- If you click the toolbar button, you lock on highlighting mode, and any selection will create a highlight annotation.
- When highlighting mode is off, you can select text and click a color in the popup to highlight just that selection, or you can copy the text as you would any other.
For the latter, if you paste into a Zotero note, you'll get an annotation and citation, as if you had added an annotation to a note. If you copy to somewhere outside of Zotero, you'll get plain text. If you really want unquoted plain text in a Zotero note with no citation and no link back to the PDF, you can force pasting as plain text with the appropriate keyboard shortcut for your OS (Cmd/Ctrl-Shift-V).
