How to renew the information of a item

There some journals publish papers online before they get the volume and page information, for example APAS of ACS. So I record some item with the volume and page information. After some time, the journal will give these information, and I need renew the information of these papers. So my problem is whether there is a method I can renew the information automatically instead of change the information manually.
