[Jurism] Chrome connector not working

Juris-M connector to Chrome not working for multiple staff and students at our university. When attempting to add it, it says there is an error with the page. For those trying to enable it when already added, they are getting a message saying that 'This extension violates the Chrome Web Store policy'.

Anyone else having these issues?

    We can't provide support for Jurism, but the Jurism Connector does appear to have been removed from the Chrome Web Store:

    well this complicated things a lot for people using Jurism. isn't it possible to help us and add it again in Chrome? and if not, should we migrate back to Zotero or how does this work?

    in addition to "not creating duplicate threads for the same issue" - it was not intended - any possible solution to this topic? For example, we are back to using Zotero but it does not contain some styles from JurisM (such as Bluebook used by many legal scholars); it also does not contain italics for references, we need to copy paste things like See. Many of us migrated to JurisM for these specific reasons and we're just trying to understand if we can get it back fully operational and if not to just consider other options. thanks!

    You can use Firefox, as explained above. Again, we can't provide support for Jurism — it's not our product.

    There's a Bluebook style for Zotero but it's inherently more limited. I don't know what you're referring to re: italics.

    (And re: your complaint on Twitter, you were placed in moderation because you created a duplicate thread immediately after posting to this one, which clutters the forum and makes it harder for others to help you. When people violate our forum guidelines, we place them in moderation until it's clear that they've stopped. Regardless, implying that we placed you in moderation simply because you said "a function is no longer working" when you're not even talking about our software is pretty obnoxious and not going to make people super eager to help you here.)

    The Jurism developer is no longer working on the project and hasn't been in these forums for over a year. Possible that will change in the future, but for now, if Jurism itself still does what you need, your best bet for a Jurism Connector is to use the one for Firefox. (If you know how to build it, you can also load the connector code in developer mode in Chrome.)

    Going forward, someone will likely need to create plugins that incorporate the sorts of multilingual and legal functionality that Jurism offered.

    Hello, has anyone fixed/replaced the Juris M connector yet? If not, anyone have an idea how to go about crowd funding a developer to do that? This plug-in seems really useful for journal and it's unfortunate that it's no longer functional.

    @dstillman In a voluntary capacity, I am working with some NZ universities who would like to migrate to Zotero (from JurisM). We would need to identify a software developer (for paid work) who has some experience with Zotero, preferably who has a track record of committing to the project. Is there anyone you can recommend?

    @peter.kelly: Not totally sure what you mean. There's no external developer who would be able to guarantee that their work would be merged to the core project. There are some extremely capable Zotero plugin developers, but that's not something we can give recommendations on.

    Note that, since my comment above, the Jurism developer has expressed some interest in continuing to developer the software, and one prominent plugin developer has also expressed interest in converting some of the Jurism functionality to a plugin (which is the approach that we've strongly recommended) if sufficient funding can be secured.

    Understood as to the nature of contributing patches to open source projects - but a good track record does help!
