Zotero with PDFs in OneDrive folder

Hello, I'm somewhat new to Zotero and initially started to add PDFs, however I quickly ran out of storage. I would like to use it with PDFs stored on my OneDrive folder (downloaded and synced to my laptop). I downloaded ZotFile and set the OneDrive path as custom location, however when I drag and drop PDFs (Automatically attach files unchecked) it does not seem to add them. Can anyone help?
