Working in Web Library

As I learn Zotero, I find that I'm working in My Library via the Web Library through zotero.org. When I try to get in through the icon, it says "Zotero is already open." I am watching a video and on the demonstrator's desktop screen, the word Zotero appears next to the apple at the top. On my screen Chrome is next to the apple, even while I am capturing articles, videos and websites. How do I work in Zotero but not through zotero.org?

    The video you are watching is showing the Zotero desktop app. Zotero is designed as a desktop app, and much of its functionality is not available in the web library. You should install and use the desktop app
