Zotero word plugin doesn't appear

Sorry for crossposting, I know a lot has been covered on this topic.

I followed all the steps from Zotero support trying to make Zotero plugin pop up into word. Every different method were unsuccessful.
The plug-in were working fine until the last update of Zotero.

Any suggestions ?

    Let us know exactly what you've tried from the troubleshooting page, in your own words, and what happened at each step.

    We'll also want to see a Report ID from Zotero.

    I've tried the following:
    1) Reinstalled Microsoft Word extension from Zotero preferences -> pop up: successful installation


    2) Enabled Zotero Word for Windows integration : Tried to disabled/enabled it

    3) Redownloaded Zotero 6.0.9 -> Successful installation

    4) Delete file extension.json in the following path : C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\Zotero\Zotero\Profiles\7m2kpad5.default

    5) Reinstall manually the word plug in:
    Went to path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero\extensions\zoteroWinWordIntegration@zotero.org\install
    Zotero.dotm is present in this folder.

    It got trickier to find the word startup as layout is not exactly the same as the 3rd step on the zotero protocol: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_manual_installation

    I'm using the folllowing version: Microsoft® Word pour Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2204 Build 16.0.15128.20278) 64 bits

    And I went to File-> Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center settings-> Trusted Locations, I could see the following path: C:\Users\sebastieng\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup\

    I pasted it in the web browser but I could'nt find "install" folder, only the zotero.dotm and it is already in under the path C:\Users\sebastieng\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\Startup\

    I still can't see the tab Zotero in Word.

    I dont know if it can help you but when open word -> Files -> Options -> Add in
    I can clearly see Zotero.dotm type "Template" but it is under "disabled add ins"

    Don't hesitate to ask me clarification, thanks for your time, really appreciated

    More specifically, in the Add-ins page, you need to use the Manage drop down, select Word Add-ins and tick Zotero.dotm.

    Hi, as suggested

    Under Word I went to File -> Options -> Add-ins -> Word Add-ins -> Go and checked Zotero.dotm and press ok.

    Now in the Add-ins list I got doubled up Zotero.dotm under "Disabled Application Add-ins" Type = Template.

    I went to the trust center-> Add-ins and made sure "Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher" and "Disable all Application Add-ins" are unchecked and press OK.

    Zotero tab still doesn't appear after relauching Word.

    Do you still have two after restarting? Does it list a path for those?

    Is this a personal or institutional computer? My best guess would be that this would be some sort of IT policy restriction that prevents loading of add-ins. If this computer is managed by an IT department, you should ask them. The .dotm is digitally signed, so it should be possible for it to be included as a trusted add-in.

    No I've got only one left after restarting with the following path: C:\User\myname\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Words\STARTUP\Zotero.dotm

    It's an institutional computer, but I installed other add-ins (e.g Grammarly) that works properly. Plus, it was working fine untill few week sago.

    I will get in touch with IT, if you have any other idea please feel free.

    Do you happen to know what the specific issue was? We don't get many reports of this, but we'd like to add it to our troubleshooting page for the few people that encounter it.

    For some reason the Zotero.dotm stayed in disabled add-ins in the word add-in tabs. Even when trying to change its status it didn't work. We updated word went to trust center-> trust center settings -> Macro settings -> We enable all macros.
    Then we were able to go to the add-ins tab and Activate Zotero.dotm and it appeared.
    I thinks this issue is very occasional but I hope it will help you and the community.
