PDF File won't displa correctly after lib imort

After importing a zotero lib from another computer, none of the pdf files display correctly. All I see is gibberish. If I navigate to the storage locations, I can open and view the files ok. Using Zotero 2.0b7.4 and firefox 3.5.4 on Windows XP.
