Which Java Development Kit for MacOS?

Hello,
I use Zotero w/ MS Word on my Mac.

Zotero is telling me that I need to download Java Development Kit to work now. It links me to this page. But it does not indicate which JDK I need.
https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/downloads/

E.g., do we download the Arm 64 Compressed Archive or Arm 64 DMG Installer, etc.?

thank you!
  • It's complicated, due to various LO bugs:
    • On macOS, LibreOffice 6.4 and 7.1+ work with all JDK versions up to JDK 17.0.2. LO 7.3.5 fixes compatibility with JDK versions above 17.0.2. LibreOffice 7.0 does not work with JDK versions above 12 on macOS.

    • M1 Mac users running LibreOffice versions 7.2 or earlier should install the Intel (x64) versions of both LibreOffice and the JDK rather than the Apple Silicon (ARM/aarch64) versions. The Apple Silicon version of LO 7.3 is compatible with the Apple Silicon JDK 17.0.2.
  • I am having similar issues with the M2. I was able to install LO but when I open it (I had installed jdk-8u341-macosx-x64.dmg) I get this message:

LibreOffice requires Oracle's Java Development Kit (JDK) on macOS 10.10 or greater to perform this task. Please install them and restart LibreOffice. https://hub.libreoffice.org/InstallJava/?LOlocale=en-US

I went to the site and when I try to download Arm 64 DMG Installer (under Java SE Development Kit 18.0.2 downloads), I get this message from Oracle:
We're sorry, the page you requested was not found.
We have recorded this error (404) to help us fix the problem.

    Any thoughts?
