Accessibility: Retraction notice
I received a notice in Zotero "An item in your database has been retracted. View item". It is white font on a red banner that spans the whole application. It is between the toolbar and the collections pane/item viewer/information pane.
I don't think I've seen this often.
It does not appear to be reachable by keyboard only. I have tried tab and F6.
Moreover, it is unclear to me how a blind faculty member or researcher would be notified of this in the aural interface. A better design may be to have a dialog box with a message about the retracted item.

(No reason it needs to be an actual alert. There are ARIA labels to indicate that a notification occurred or content changed.)
