Private WebDAV storage
1) Rest assured that Zotero is an absolutely brilliant idea I can no longer live without. Thank you!
2) Can I completely decouple Zotero plugin from Zotero Web site, and forget about my Zotero user account?
Let's say I want to take over control of sync activities and redirect synchronization for My Library AND Group Libraries altogether, to my own WebDAV storage. Zotero sync preferences dialog will still ask me for my Zotero user ID --even if I uncheck all boxes related to Zotero Sync Server. Is this a technical or policy issue?
Please clarify. Thank you in advance!

Upgrade Storage
However, Zotero already does storage properly in some way. Does the Zotero team have any plans to release their repository server code for local, institutional use? Under any licensing conditions? I can't seem to find the statement about this.
Or, is Omeka what I am asking for?
Please excuse my confusion
