Word and Zotero Not Responding
Report ID: 1240598856 (I think!)
When I try to add citation in Microsoft Word using the Zotero plugin, word and Zotero freeze (and I have to force quit).
Zotero tells me
"Zotero failed to update the document.
Would you like to see the troubleshooting instructions?"
This happens in documents with citations already in AND in a completely new document with the word "test" in. I have already done lots of the advised troubleshooting from other discussions, but in my most recent attempt found that the problem wasn't happening with all citation styles, but WAS happening with any referencing style that uses footnotes (i.e. Chicago (NOTE) and Chicago (full-note) (the latter of which I have used in all my writing so far) and MHRA.
Steps to reproduce THE PROBLEM:
1. Start Zotero.
2. Start Microsoft Word, create a new document, input some random sentences.
3. Click on the Zotero plugin in Microsoft Word, click on "Add/Edit Citation".
4. Choose Chicago Manual of style 17th edition (full-note) OR (note) OR Modern Humanities Research Association 3rd edition (note with bibliography) in EITHER footnote or endnote
5. Now you should see the rainbow wheel of doom and word and Zotero should stop responding.
Thanks for your help x

kat twiggThis is also an issue when using the "Document Preferences" option to update the style used - it will change through non-footnotes or -endnote styles fine, but when choosing one of the above mentioned styles it stops responding again.
