To move citations, can you cut and paste?

My boss just moved citations in superscript (AMA style) from the middle to the end of the sentence by cut and pasting them. There were no citations between the two locations. Will this cause problems as I add in more citations?

    No, that's fine. In Word and LibreOffice, that just works. In Google Docs, you have to be sure to use cut/paste rather than dragging.
