Plain text in notes
Is there a way of changing notes to use plain text rather than the HTML editor?
There's a couple of reasons:
1) The HTML editor takes up the majority of the window. It leaves me with only one visible line to enter text.
2) I'd like to be able to paste the notes into text fields (forums, gmail etc) and currently text includes HTML which has to be stripped out manually.
Version 1 handled notes perfectly for me and it would be great to have the option to switch back to that way of doing things. Do you think there's a possibility this might be added into preferences as an option, or is there a way to do this manually for the moment?
Thanks,
Andy

(1) Install the Extended Copy Menu add-on for Firefox. This adds a "copy as plain text" menu item.
(2) If you're moderately technical you can modify the html editor various ways. One thing I've done is change it to include a "paste as plain text" button, as described here. But number (1) is a lot easier way to achieve the same thing (for copying from web pages, but not from e.g. a word doc).
One note: the "eraser" button in zotero's note editor is supposed to remove formatting, but it doesn't always work. I've never been able to figure out precisely what works and what doesn't.
Personally, I almost never want to paste formatting. Fine to have the option but annoying that it's always the default.
