url in citation APA citation export not working - hyperlinked incorrectly.

When I copy a citation from my Zotero Titles column into another application, the URL associated with the title is rendered incorrectly. The URL is incompletely rendered. The URL is rendered until the final point (.) in a sample of citations I have exported.

Here is a sample. The same fault occurs whether I copy-and-past, or drag-and drop to: Apple Pages, Apple Textedit, or tumblr. Consequently, I presume the fault is a Firefox or Zotero fault. This a a recent error - occurring say since mid October 2009.

The fault occurs in the latest Firefox (3.5.5), and the previous. I am using Zotero 2.ob7.4. I export my citations as APA Edition 6. I will explore if other export styles cause the same fault.

These citations are pasted directly from my Title list.

Baker, N. (2009). The Anthologist. Simon & Schuster.
Barbour, R. (n.d.). Robert Fritz Inc - About Us. Retrieved July 9, 2009, from http://www.robertfritz.com/index.php?content=about
Barnett, B. (2003, February 21). Genetics may help solve mysteries of human evolution, anthropologist says. Stanford Report. Retrieved November 3, 2009, from http://news-service.stanford.edu/news/2003/february26/aaasklein-226.html

These are the same titles copied from Apple Pages, after copying from Zotero. This copy doesn't render the image I see in pages - the italics of the book titles, nor the failing hyperlinks.

  • Interesting - When I copy and paste into the Zotero discussion, it all works fine!!!!

But in my Pages, for example, the following text is not included in the underlined hyperlink, and therefore the hyperlink does not function:

    Barbour, R. (n.d.). php?content=about
    Barnett, B. (2003, February 21). .html
    Basbøll, T. (2009, August 26). .html
  • The fault also occurs with Neoffice word processor, Apple mail.

The fault does NOT happen with these Export styles:
    American Medical
    American Political
    Am Sociological

    ... I haven't looked at any others.
    .... so I have a temporary fix!

The fault occurs whether or NOT I have "Copy as HTML" checked.
  • this is known and will be fixed in the next update.
Zotero doesn't get the link right if the entry doesn't have a period at the end (as required specifically by APA).
  • Thanks!

I tried to locate a relevant forum but found nothing in about 30 mins of searching.
  • no worries - this has only come up once, so it's not like it's all over the forum. I actually can't find it at first glance, either.
But I'm positive it's fixed in the next version
(in fact, here is where Dan submitted the fix
    https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/5337 )
  • Yipee!

APA style works correctly again! As of 2.0b7.5 26 November.

    Thank you.

I enjoyed a nice tour of all the other citation styles, even if I am a little late with my marking and research plans!
