some pdfs no information added (and not possible to add manually)

For some of my saved pdfs, no information (of author, summary, date, etc.) is shown but only a note can be added. I would enter the information manually, but as there is only a blank note shown, I can't seem to edit it. Is there a way to add the necessary information?

Zotero sometimes couldnt extract the metadata

Are the steps you are trying are Right click on pdf > "Create parent item> Manual entry ..."?
The created item in the left pane should be editable...
