ZeroConf?

Hello,

Support of ZeroConf was mentioned about last year. This would be a great feature, but it seems to have disappeared from the radars. Is there any reason for that?

    It was working—on OS X only—a while back. I believe I hacked it together mainly so that I could name a module "Z(ot)eroConf". It doesn't work anymore, and there are no immediate plans to restore the functionality now that there's public library sharing, shared groups, etc. But if there's sufficient demand we could consider restoring it.

    It would be great to restore it. It seems that many people are looking for a way to collaborate over local area networks. I think support of ZeroConf (as I understand it initially worked) would meet their needs, although it was not explicitly mentioned in the forum discussions I have read.
    Also, if it worked on OSX, it should not be that difficult to make it work at least on Windows, as Bonjour is available for this OS.
