Feature request: function to generate a book section based on a book

I often find myself performing the same set of actions to generate a book section based on a book, i.e. duplicate record, change item type, change authors to editors, etc. I wonder if this very common task can be automated somehow. Is this feasible?

I realize that the PDF viewer is still very new, but perhaps a feature could also be added to trim out pages outside the scope of the specific section. I typically do this outside of zotero as part of my book section generation workflow in macos preview app or whatever, which involves finding the file, duplicating, deleting pages from the duplicate, import the modified pdf, rename the pdf using zotfile. Obviously a major ask, but just putting it out there as an idea.
