Zotero Downloaded but says its not

I've tried downloading Zotero like 10 times. I will delete and download again. It shows on my google docs, but says "The Zotero Connector was unable to communicate with the Zotero desktop application. Zotero must be open to use web-based citing." I'm not sure what I am suppose to do.

Have you downloaded the actual Zotero program?

The Zotero Connector is just a browser extension. You need both.
