Child notes for items that aren’t pdfs?

I feel like I am the only person who takes notes on actual hard-copy materials in Zotero. A lot of my research materials aren’t digitized, and I use Zotero for all of my important note-taking. I know that the new pdf markup feature automatically pulls the mark-up into child notes, but I can’t find a way to do it for books, as I do in the app for MacOS. Any suggestions for where to look, or does this function just not exist?

    Are you asking about the iOS app? If so, tap the (i) button on the right end of the item row to view details, tap "Edit", scroll down to Notes, and tap "Add note".
