Run-time error '91' Object variable or With block variable not set

After using Zotero without problems for several months, I recently cannot continue working on Word documents any more. Whenever I reopen an existing document with Zotero citations and want to edit or insert a new citation I get the Visual Basic error message:

"Run-time error '91' Object variable or With block variable not set"

My current workaround is as follows:
1. Copying the content of an existing document (with citations) into a new document
2. Adding a new citation (Zotero asks then for the style)
3. From now on I can modify old citations and add new ones as I want

Of course, this workaround bothers. Is there any solution? Could not find any useful thread in the forum. I am using the latest version of Firefox (v3.5.4), Zotero (v2.0b7.4) and Word Plugin (v3.0a3). It is Windows XP and Word 2003 SP3.

There is no problem at all when starting a new document and adding citations.
  • I fizzled around a lot recently. I could finally fix the problem.

First I uninstalled and re-installed Zotero and the Zotero Word-PlugIn. Afterwards I received the error message in Word that the Plugin 1.0 is not compatible with Zotero 2.0 (despite having installed the plugin version 3.0a3)

Second, I simply deleted the Normal.dot file in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates"
Word automatically recovers the file. I realized that the file recovered by Word was significantly smaller than the old file (38kB instead of 58kB). Now Zotero worked properly.
