new pdf: store on Zotero AND link and rename with Zotfile

Let’s say that I download a new reference and its pdf directly from a website using the connector. I’d like to store the pdf in Zotero, but also keep a copy of the pdf in a separate folder. I’d like to have Zotfile handle the renaming and storage in the separate folder (or somehow automatically achieve the same renaming result). Ideally, my Zotero entry would show both the linked file and the stored file (this does seem to be possible to do by hand). What’s the easiest/most automatic way to get this done?

I don't see a way to get this done -- ZotFile handles these as exclusive alternatives. I don't think anyone has ever even asked about this before.

Yes, the only thing I’ve been able to figure out so far is to let Zotfile do its thing, and then just go back and manually add a stored version of the file to the record.

It would be great if Zotfile had an option to do both things!
