Not able to switch citation styles

Hi there,

I'm having serious trouble which I can't seem to solve in switching citation styles.

I have a document with dozens of references. They all currently appear as endnotes and I need to switch them to APA (in-text/author-date). However, when I click switch style in the document preferences, nothing happens.

I've explored some of the threads that discuss similar issues, including this one, which has the advice:

"Workaround: Before switching to the in-text style, click on “Set Document Preferences” in the Word add-on and switch the format to “Footnotes.” Then switch to the in-text style. If you did already switch to the in-text style and are seeing this issue, switch back to the note-based style you were using, toggle to “Footnotes,” and switch back."

the problem is I can't even change to footnotes because I can't find any option of switching to footnotes, as recommended, in the "document preferences" menu.

I thought about manually changing the citations, even though there are many dozens of them, but this won't help either. When I try and add a new citation is still appears as a footnote. Copying the text into another document didn't help either - still appearing as footnotes.

I've also updated zotero and the word connector - didn't help.
I'm running Zotero 6.06 with firefox on a windows 10 machine.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can you switch to Chicago note first, then switch to footnotes?
    Like this: endnotes-footnotes
  • damnation, I don't know what you did, but it seems to work! Thank you so much! I'll be back if things fall apart again. many blessings!
